ABOUT CULTED:
Having already successfully launched CULTED as a media brand and gained an audience of 2m+, we are now starting a new venture. We’re going back to our core objectives: Deliver news at the speed of social media, to inform audiences through entertainment. This time, without the limitations of fashion and culture. We will enter the global news landscape through our new media brand, accelerating our audience growth like never before, giving us even more influence. Next will come sports, gaming, travel & more.


We’re now looking for an Editorial Lead to head up this exciting new venture, starting from January 2025.

CORE TASKS AND DUTIES:
  • You will report into a strategist whilst still working alongside the CEO to set targets for the editorial team on content performance and channel growth
  • Execute market research and ensure we remain ahead of competitors through innovative news content
  • Grow an audience and establish / maintain a cultural presence through sharp content
  • Manage the activities and processes digital ecosystem including websites, social media and marketing campaigns
  • Be responsible for launching and growing on a diverse range of platforms
  • Your role will be target based (reach, impressions, audience growth)
  • Analyse data traffic and user metrics across all platforms
  • Ensure the efficiency and optimisation of the digital ecosystem through SEO, SEM, and SMO
  • Ensure the consistency of digital tone and presence
  • Work with the marketing and design teams to define strategies and requirements
  • You will manage two individuals to begin with but this will expand.
  • Develop, produce and ensure the consistency of video and stills franchises across all channels
  • You will ensure that we are fast and publish breaking news content
  • You will proof check all content that is being published
  • Liaise with the agency team to advise on advertorial content ideas and partnerships
  • Be responsible for hiring and building out the content team, you will have the support of our operations team.


THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
  • Has 5+ years of experience in digital media
  • Will possess strong awareness of the worlds of news, celebrity, politics and digital media.
  • Will have thorough understanding of all current social media platforms, especially of interest to Gen-Z and Gen A such as TikTok and Twitch
  • Can evaluate and measure digital data and statistics, create reports, and develop strategy for growth
  • Will be an experienced manager
  • Has the ability to understand the importance of brand identity
  • Has professional approach when dealing with clients, vendors and business partners
  • Is able to confidently present under pressure to clients and stakeholders
SKILLS:
  • Proven track record in growing social media channels
  • Able to work in an extremely fast-paced environment under high pressure
  • Strong understanding of digital content
  • Outstanding organisational skills
  • Able to take initiative and pitch original ideas
  • Well developed content marketing skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects at once
This role will be based full time from the CULTED office. You will be required to attend productions, events and occasional work trips.
