Role Purpose-
The Global Visual Merchandising Coordinator will participate in the conceptualisation and development of visual merchandising initiatives for new product launches and promotional activities. The role reports and works closely with the Head of Visual Merchandising and Brand Environment. The candidate is expected to participate in initiatives that will enhance the brand image and advocate Aesop standards ensuring meticulous detail, quality and consistency are observed across all stores globally.
The ideal candidate will come from a three-dimensional design background and will have experience in a retail environment or a similar role. Excellent project management skills are essential as well as the ability to manage multiple campaigns across large territories. This role will be responsible for overseeing new store openings across the zones, communicating information that is critical to the success of the visual merchandising displays and providing training, ensuring the Aesop visual language is consistently maintained across all newly opened doors.
Working closely with Marketing, Art Direction, Store Design and VM to realise all aspects of campaign executions and new store expansion across our retail locations, you will always act as a strong Aesop brand ambassador.
This is a full-time role, located in London.

Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to –
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Visual Merchandising and Brand Environment to provide creative and poetic solutions to enhance campaign themes that assist in increasing visibility of the product and traffic within store.
  • Research and exploration of material, forms and complex themes that can be delivered, implemented or sensitively modified to respond to different cultures.
  • Proactively present and escalate highly creative ideas and suggestions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the development of guidelines that ensure conceptual ideas can be interpreted and delivered globally to a high standard.
  • Quality check and review Zone VM teams prop samples, correcting & guiding when necessary.
  • In collaboration with Zone VM teams and Store Design, prepare merchandising and photoshoot planograms, props and styling for all store openings.
  • Co-ordinate trackers and planners to ensure each store opening project is delivered within the set time frame and to company visual standards.
  • Inspire and train VM teams to be aware of Aesop guidelines, including but not limited to general merchandising, demonstration area, back of house, POS, lighting and so forth.
  • Review the success of VM displays, collect feedback, and react accordingly, analyse impact and ROI when relevant.
  • Deliver multiple post-campaign reports & review opportunities.
  • As required, supporting photoshoots for Aesop channels and event installations.
  • Advocate and uphold the Aesop Visual Merchandising Standards.
  • General assistance with VM Admin and templates.
Who we are looking for-
  • A three dimensional understanding, proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp and Rhino.
  • 3 -5 years previous experience in visual merchandising or interior styling.
  • Fluent English written and spoken skills are essential, second language is beneficial
  • Understanding of Aesop’s visual culture and a passion for the brand.
  • An aptitude for materials, colour and form.
  • Excellent organisational skills; the proven ability to take ideas from concept to completion.
  • The ability to communicate complex visual concepts both verbally and graphically.
  • An interest in art, design and culture.
  • A meticulous level of detail, in all endeavours.
  • Determination and a willingness to explore.
  • A drive for perfection without fear of making mistakes and the openness to discover the beauty of imperfection.
  • Can-Do attitude and result-orientated workstyle.
