Paramount Advertising is seeking an experienced Group Account Director to join our digital and streaming advertising sales team. This role will concentrate on enhancing revenue growth for Channel 5’s BVOD service, My5, by establishing and scaling programmatic partnerships with advertising agencies, as well as leveraging buy-side and sell-side ad tech partnerships.
The ideal Group Account Director will be a dynamic leader who can drive digital and streaming programmatic advertising sales growth for Paramount's platforms in the UK market. They will foster strong client relationships, inspire their team to deliver exceptional results, and position Paramount as a leader in the evolving digital video landscape
This position reports directly to the Vice President, International Programmatic Revenue
What will you be doing?
Strategic Leadership and Business Development
  • Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives to maximise advertising revenue across Paramount's digital and streaming platforms in the UK market.
  • Identify and pursue high-value new business opportunities within existing accounts and potential new clients.
  • Provide expert guidance on converged advertising strategies, focusing on My5, PlutoTV, Paramount+, and YouTube.
  • Achieve ambitious quarterly revenue targets, emphasising client retention and scaling up the existing advertising book of business.
  • Lead the development of strategic sales plans and initiatives to drive long-term growth and market share.
Client Management and Relationship Building
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior decision-makers at key brands and agencies in the UK digital advertising space.
  • Scale programmatic partnerships across DSP and SSP, implementing sales strategies to monetise platforms.
  • Present compelling advertising proposals showcasing the unique benefits of Paramount's digital and streaming platforms.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Deliver quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and lead strategic meetings with key clients.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of Account Directors and Account Executives specialising in digital and streaming advertising sales.
  • Mentor team members on industry best practices, emerging trends, and leadership skills in the UK streaming and digital video landscape.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the sales team.
Platform Expertise and Innovation
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Paramount's digital and streaming ecosystem.
  • Stay at the forefront of developments in digital video advertising, including programmatic, addressable TV, and advanced targeting capabilities.
  • Collaborate with product teams to develop innovative, high-value advertising solutions.
  • Provide strategic feedback to product, marketing, and senior management teams on market demand and new feature development.
Performance Management and Reporting
  • Accurately forecast and plan new business and revenue growth, aligning with company-wide objectives.
  • Deliver performance reports and analytics to senior management.
What are we looking for?
  • Advertising Sales: Minimum of 10 years of experience in programmatic advertising sales to agencies, with a strong focus on digital video and streaming platforms in the UK market
  • Programmatic Sales Expertise: Proven experience in selling programmatic advertising solutions to brands and agencies, utilising DSP and SSP partners to effectively drive demand.
  • Account Management: Proven track record of managing and growing major digital advertising accounts, demonstrating strong client relationship management skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the UK media landscape, particularly in streaming and digital video, including familiarity with key players and market dynamics.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with industry tools such as FreeWheel, ClearCast, and programmatic advertising platforms.
  • Sales Strategy: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth and client engagement.
