Description

Our Ways of Working Principles:
We believe that most of us do our best work when we work together, but we know that everyone works in different ways, and quite frankly, has other commitments and responsibilities outside of work.
As we further adjust  to hybrid working, we want to take what we've learnt from working remotely and keep the flexibility that's enabled us to thrive and keep driving our business forward.
We have some core principles which support us in this:
Do what’s right
Trust & give permission
Delivery matters
We understand ways of working can look different based on your role, team and you as an individual so we are here to support and discuss this with you during the interview process.
Work with us
At Moonpig Group our mission is to help people connect and create moments that matter. We are an international group, comprising the Moonpig, Buyagift and Red Letter Days brands in the UK and the Greetz brand in the Netherlands.
We were founded with a goal to disrupt the traditional greetings industry. Two decades on, we’re an established leader within the online cards and gifting market, offering a wide range of products to customers across the world.
Moonpig is an iconic brand and innovator, with clear values (read more about our values here!). These values set our teams and our business up for success in an environment that’s fun, supportive and challenging. They’re the glue that binds us together and we think of them as a platform to help us deliver our best work. You have every chance to drive impact here at Moonpig, and most importantly, we genuinely want you!
What You’ll Be Doing
Data Science is becoming an increasingly important value driver across the business. As such, you’ll have the chance to work with a diverse range of stakeholders and business functions. This could be anything from finance to product, to marketing; we add value wherever we can!
Because the Data Science team is small, we have a significant breadth and depth of opportunity as a team. This means that no matter which function a project is for, you can be sure that it leads to a tangible impact. Clearly, a wide range of stakeholders ladders up to a wide range of projects. Such projects could provide opportunities to test and develop skills across forecasting, predictive modelling, clustering, causal inference, and many more classes of project.
You will help in scoping the project with relevant business stakeholders, and ensuring the end solution is fit for purpose and achievable. You'll be responsible for delivering the project and ensuring a consistent experience for our end-user, and through each step, evangelising and communicating.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Working across diverse projects across numerous Data Science areas; including recommendations, personalisation and predictive modelling
  • Working collaboratively with teams in Data, Product, Engineering, MLOps, Commercial & Marketing to develop solutions
  • Develop high quality, modularised code with a view to contributing to a codebase which can be shared between projects
  • Aid in experimentation write ups for Data Science led initiatives
  • Helping track performance of existing Data Science solutions
  • Continually researching and helping develop new methods for existing Data Science products
You'll be a great addition to the team if you:
  • Previous experience working in a Data Science or Analytics role, with a focus on statistical projects around supervised or unsupervised learning
  • Experience with a programming language (e.g. Python/R)
  • Experience using SQL
  • Some experience building compelling data visualisations
  • Experience sharing complex projects with commercial stakeholders
Bonus:
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced eCommerce or Retail environment
  • Experience of AB and MVT experimentation, in particular building roadmaps and test design
  • Experience with version control workflows (Git)Graduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or related technical field
