As a Junior Music Supervisor, your primary job will be to carry out music searches for Universal Production Music clients. You will be someone with a deep love of all music and a good ear for how music works to picture, plus an excellent ability to deconstruct any music brief or task given to you.  Whilst confident in dealing with clients and efficient at multitasking you’re also happy to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and most importantly be a great character to fit into a tight-knit team.
A big personality is needed to sell a big music library, so we want someone who will be constantly promoting the Universal Production Music UK repertoire and talking up our Music Supervision service. You’ll need to work in collaboration with our Partnerships team to entice our clients to send accurate & detailed music briefs for their upcoming productions.
The B Side: Skills & Experience
Be Creative
  • Provide creative, timely and accurate music searches for a wide variety of clients, dealing with musical requests across any style or genre
  • Understand the key role of music within media and how the right track can enhance a client’s production / creative vision
  • Have a broad musical knowledge and a keen interest in learning new trends, styles or genres. Always expanding your understanding and appreciation of our catalogue
  • Update and maintain themed playlists on the website
  • Compile relevant music samplers for client/agent distribution
Be Analytical
  • Provide analysis, reports, presentations and feedback on client music usage, trends and any other requests as needed
  • Use data to maximise the relevance and effectiveness of our themed playlists
Be Collaborative
  • Liaise with technology teams on reporting and analysis of data. Also, work with our international offices to improve the use of data
  • Proactively promote our very high standard of services to clients with great knowledge of our catalogue, website features and music search service
  • Liaise with internal producers on client feedback and trends
  • Supporting Head of Music Supervision on tasks as necessary
  • Working with Sales and Marketing teams on numerous activations & projects
  • Help organise and attend client events
  • Attend relevant UK trade shows
  • Attend, keep notes and participate in all relevant departmental meetings
Be Organised
  • Be the key point of contact in the office for all incoming queries including answering all phone calls. Responding efficiently to client, agent or composer queries
  • Efficiently respond to the LIVE CHAT feature on our website
  • Keeping the client database up to date with all requests and queries
  • Manage multiple tasks at once and keep the team up to date on progress
Be Commercial
  • Proficient understanding of music licensing and advising clients on production music rates, licensing terms, music details and any other queries
  • Contribute marketing ideas for client initiatives
  • Assess potential new business opportunities and help exploit our content across various platforms
  • Help implement all aspects of the agreed Marketing / Sales Strategy
Person Specification
  • Passion for music across a wide range of styles and genres
  • Confident in using Excel, project management tools and creating presentations/reports
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn
  • Experienced in handling multiple projects concurrently
  • Good phone manner
  • Pro-active and excellent at working to tight deadlines
Desirable
  • Experience with music licensing and/or sync
  • Good understanding of our media clients
  • Time spent creating or producing music
  • Understanding or interest in the gaming, film or fashion sectors
