We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Junior Production Manager to join our dynamic News & Current Affairs team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing the production process of live and recorded news programs, and also support our digital content, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of content while maintaining high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Coordination:
  • Assist in creating production schedules and ensuring all necessary resources are in place for content delivery
  • Coordinate with producers, editors, journalists, and technical teams to ensure smooth execution of all productions
  • Manage communication and logistics for on-location shoots and ensure all crew and equipment are properly organised
Budget & Resource Management:
  • Support the Production Manager in managing production budgets, tracking expenses, and optimising resource allocation
  • Monitor daily costs related to personnel, equipment, and locations, ensuring all expenditures are within the allocated budget
Team Support:
  • Act as a point of contact for the production team, assisting with day-to-day queries and resolving any production issues
  • Help manage crew schedules and ensure sufficient coverage for all production shifts, especially during breaking news events
Compliance & Quality Control:
  • Ensure all production elements comply with legal, regulatory, and editorial standards, including health and safety protocols
  • Assist in quality control by ensuring all content adheres to the company’s standards and delivery requirements
Technical Oversight:
  • Work closely with the technical teams to ensure proper functioning of studio equipment, cameras, and editing software
  • Oversee the smooth operation of live broadcasts, resolving any technical issues that may arise during production
Post-Production:
  • Collaborate with editors to ensure timely post-production processes, including editing, sound mixing, and visual effects, where applicable
  • Ensure all programs are delivered to the broadcast team on schedule and to the required technical specifications
Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, including contracts, call sheets, schedules, and reports
  • Assist in the preparation of production reports for senior management

Key Requirements
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience in media production, preferably in a news or current affairs environment
  • Strong understanding of the news production process, from pre-production to post-production
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of production software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, Avid) and broadcast equipment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on production requirements

Additional Information:
  • This role may require travel for on-location shoots
  • The Junior Production Manager will need to work extended hours during peak news cycles or major events
