We are seeking an experienced Knitwear Product Developer to join our London based Team. In this role, you will deliver end to end product development process in the knitwear categories within our Product Development function. Acting as an ambassador for Burberry, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and collaboration and operate as true technical specialists with internal teams and vendors.
Partner closely with Design to translate creative visions into products, providing technical expertise, attending fittings, and offering solutions to achieve seamless results.
Build strong vendor relationships, aligning on capabilities, negotiating costs, and maintaining design integrity through collaborative adjustments.
Manage the critical path from concept to pre-production, resolving prototype issues, mitigating risks, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Ensure prototypes and samples meet quality, cost, and functionality standards, aligning with customer needs and brand values.
Collaborate with Product Engineering on testing and compliance, protecting the design vision throughout development.
Support and mentor PD Assistants while maintaining accuracy in PLM updates to ensure efficient workflows.
Collaborate with Senior Designers to interpret and translate their creative vision into actionable plans for teams and vendors.
Provide expert technical solutions in yarns, stitches, knitwear production, print development, embroidery, and embellishment, backed by luxury brand experience.
Manage vendor relationships effectively, delivering clear briefs and leveraging partnerships to meet demands and maintain quality.
Oversee critical path management, ensuring on-time delivery of collections and proactively addressing risks or challenges.
Balance creativity with commercial awareness, managing budgets and product costs to align with brand and business goals.
Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills, fashion sensibility, and proficiency in PLM, Excel, and InDesign.
