JKR are looking for a realisation designer to join the team for a 6 month fixed term contract. In this role you will be working between the conceptual design team and the artwork production team to bring to life brand design system for packaging and identity projects and then taking that through to the output of comprehensive guidelines.
Realisation Designer Purpose
Inspire and produce charismatic creative solutions that adhere to the creative integrity of the brand.
Translating creative concepts into viable systems and creative outputs across a variety of mediums, meeting technical requirements while maintaining the creative integrity
Externally: To ensure that all stages of the work meet or exceed the clients’ objectives, challenging and interpreting feedback wherever appropriate to get to better creative.
Internally: To work closely with multiple teams, acting as the lead realisation creative on multiple projects and effectively supporting the Design Director. To inspire, mentor and share knowledge with the creative team, to help them to reach their potential.
Reports to: Design Director
Using detailed brand knowledge, experience and technical insights to aid creative execution.
Through early involvement and partnership in projects fully understands what the brand stands for and the charisma it strives to evoke.
Keeps up to date with the brand’s core values and the design elements it uses.
Acts as a source of creative knowledge, experience and reassurance to the team and wider JKR teams.
Provides outstanding Brand First design solutions that answer the brief and beyond and instilling that within the rest of the team.
Demonstrates and encourages a high level of critical awareness and the ability to discuss realization projects in detail.
Thinks creatively about the brand as a whole and makes suggestions as to what is right and wrong for the brand.
Actively offers a fresh perspective on design and encourages a discussion around alternative solutions that maintain the creative intention.
Supporting effective and efficient time management within the team.
Displays a high level of professionalism towards the work and fellow colleagues,
always communicating clearly if deadlines or meetings cannot be met.
Liaises with the relevant teams or people to communicate potential problems or solutions throughout the project.
Takes and encourages ownership and responsibility for projects within the team.

Use your understanding of the fundamentals of the technicalities involved with packaging to help deliver the best design solutions.

Encourages innovative thinking for how to translate creative concepts into brand systems, extending ideas across different mediums and touchpoints.
Provide expertise and guidance with technical aspects of the finished product, such as colour, collaborating with
Production to ensure smooth delivery of creative output. Pro-actively asks and encourages the right questions to be asked to ensure the design solution is feasible and to push for optimising and enhancing the design.
Considers the future scope of projects (eg. e-commerce/digital).

Actively appreciates colleagues, clients and suppliers to recognise and reward great work. Lead on Realisation scheduling requirements with Creative Services and have oversight of all realisation work in the studio.
Represent Realisation internally (pre-production meetings etc) and act as the key point of contact for specialist Realisation design queries or escalations.

A portfolio that clearly shows your experience with packaging and brand systems (ideally FMCG) and roll out

Hybrid working: min 2 days pw in the studio (or as required by the team)
