The Role
GLAMOUR UK is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Senior Commerce Writer to work on expanding and optimising the brand’s unique and compelling shopping content offering. The ideal candidate will be passionate about shopping across every category – from style to beauty and health – but will have a particular interest in lifestyle, travel and wellness. They will have a strong background in creating new commerce content, and should be skilled at positioning a story to both attract an audience and drive purchase, while maintaining editorial integrity and authority.
The ideal candidate will also be confident in optimising existing shopping content for both affiliates and SEO, and analysing traffic and conversion results from past content to make recommendations for future stories. An ability to brainstorm new ways to engage our audience around commerce-driven activities on all our digital platforms is desirable.
The Team
This role will sit within the UK digital editorial team, reporting to the Senior Commerce Editor, Europe. The team has a close working relationship with the wider editorial team, as well as GLAMOUR teams around the world (in the US, Germany and Spain, in particular).
What Will You Be Doing?
  • Writing new, engaging; revenue-driving commerce content that feels aligned with GLAMOUR’s brand values, with a heavy emphasis on lifestyle, wellness and travel.
  • Pitching ideas to grow and diversify our affiliate revenue stream in regular content planning meetings.
  • Writing quick, shoppable news-led articles that speak to a current trend, celebrity moment or sale while maintaining the GLAMOUR brand and voice.
  • Targeting and covering commerce SEO content gaps across the homes and interiors section with a goal of driving clicks and revenue.
  • Conducting in-depth research and interview experts for assigned articles.
  • Optimising and updating a number of existing commerce stories each week to further increase their earning potential.
  • Covering commerce sale tent poles throughout the year with a central focus on SEO (including, but not limited to Christmas, Amazon Prime Day, Black Friday, Boxing Day sales).
  • Collaborating and work closely with social/email/audience development teams to ideate and execute new ways of connecting shopping on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Newsletters.
  • Contributing to producing and presenting reports, analysis and insights on a daily / weekly basis. Studying purchasing data, tracking site analytics, researching trends, performing competitive analysis of comparable sites.
  • Representing GLAMOUR UK within the industry – at press events, GLAMOUR events, product launches and press trips.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are?
  • The successful candidate will be familiar with the beauty, fashion and interiors industries.
  • A knowledge of what makes for quality, empowering and aspirational digital content.
  • A clear passion and enthusiasm for the GLAMOUR brand – and helping to define the content-to-commerce strategy at GLAMOUR.
  • Previous experience writing clean, authentic, engaging copy for a digital lifestyle brand or publication at speed.
  • Previous experience working and uploading into a CMS.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of core SEO principles and best practice to attract a buying audience.
  • Ability to compile and present regular reports, insights and analysis of e-commerce progress, and translate data into meaningful content strategies.
  • Organised; methodical approach to work with a creative and collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work against tight deadlines.
  • A flair for working with individuals across different departments, globally.
  • A self-starter who relishes the opportunity to directly accelerate the growth of Conde Nast’s commerce business.
Where will you be?
This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in our beautiful Adelphi office, with breathtaking views over the Thames, and next to the hustle and bustle of The Strand.
