Job Description
Focusing on the monthly accounting and reporting cycle, as well as cost control and forecasting, the ideal candidate will have great initiative and be able to consider ‘the big picture’. Brilliant prioritisation and qualities associated with being a supportive manager with a growth mindset will be absolutely key.
The role will lead a team of 6 people and report to the Head of Finance. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills and a dynamic leader who has the ability to problem-solve autonomously as well as closely with others.
Day-to-day financial management and control is naturally a core aspect of the role, but we are looking for someone who offers that extra bit more - someone who is able to stand back and assess the consequences of commercial changes from an accounting perspective and consider what the broader impact will be. On the back of this, you will bring ideas about what ‘good’ looks like in terms of process, and seek opportunity to automate wherever you can.
You will also be the core finance business contact for our senior leadership teams, staying close to the pulse of what is changing in the e-comm landscape, and delivering the best service to our customers.
On a typical day, you may be leading the team through the month end close, helping troubleshoot problems and identifying areas for future improvement. The next, you may be working with one of our data specialists to help automate processes or with our tax team on transfer pricing policy. Working in a rapidly growing business like ours, there is always a new challenge and plenty of opportunities to develop your skill set and turn your hand to new things.
This role will be a 12 month fixed term contract and we are ideally looking for someone who can start with us in January.

  • Complete ownership of the monthly accounting and reporting cycle, ensuring all reporting and commentary is accurate and on time
  • Presenting and explaining key results to senior leadership, including the CFO and other Exec
  • Business partnering with members of the executive team to support their financial objectives
  • Supporting the FP&A team and guiding your own team through the annual budget and quarterly reforecasting
  • Supporting the Group Reporting team and guiding your own team through the annual and half-year accounts preparation, working directly with the group auditors where needed
  • Working closely with other core finance teams to gain full understanding of any developments impacting your areas of responsibility
  • Supporting the finance transformation team to champion process improvement
  • Taking the lead on various ad-hoc projects as they arise
Qualifications
  • Qualified senior accountant with broad experience (4+ years PQE)
  • Excellent team management skills to support and encourage your direct team

  • Naturally inquisitive and analytical mindset, be able to quickly grasp the fundamentals of complex systems and processes, explaining and presenting them to others is an easy to understand way
  • Comfortable working in a high transactional volume, multi-currency and multinational environment
