What outcomes do I need to deliver
  • Focussing on the people change needed to achieve our strategy, and the role leaders play in delivering it, you will tell the story of the big changes we’re landing over each year of our strategy that will enable us to deliver our strategic commitments
  • Lead the development of communications plans that form part of the wider narrative for the business
  • Work with the Senior Planning and Outcomes Manager – Corporate Affairs to ensure communications form part of the wider internal communications plan
  • Create and deliver communications that engage all our colleagues in the role they play in delivering on our strategy, and that enable our leaders to unite their teams and execute the plan brilliantly
  • Work alongside HR and other stakeholders to lead the communication of change projects, preparing cascade plans and messaging, and supporting the creation of scripts and presentations
  • Write communications for members of the operating board and broader leaders as relevant, that demonstrate our progress against our strategy and how our business is adapting to meet changing shopping habits
  • Support leaders to have effective face-to-face conversations consistently with every colleague by owning and developing our people change communication channels
  • Work with the Senior Internal Communications Manager – Continuous Improvement to measure the effectiveness of all communications and channels to drive continuous improvement in our communications
What you need to know and show
  • Strong background in internal communications, creating and delivering communication plans in fast-paced and complex organisations (essential)
  • Proven track record of creating and delivering communications for people change projects to complex audiences (essential)
  • A proven ability to collaborate and build relationships across teams, including senior leaders (essential)
  • Demonstrable experience of advising stakeholders about tone and delivery of communications (essential)
  • Strong experience of creating communications on behalf of senior leaders for a variety of formats, including written and video communications (essential)
  • Strong understanding of the retail environment, with experience working in a retail environment desirable
  • Excellent, clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle large amounts of information in a time-sensitive environment, to prioritise and work under pressure to tight deadlines
