This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lecturer to play a key role in the delivery of the BA Graphic Design Communication course at Chelsea College of Arts.
The course explores branding, digital products and platforms (UX & UI), moving image, editorial design and art direction, pushing boundaries in communication design and creating innovative digital design experiences.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will utilise your expertise in this subject area to continue to innovate and challenge traditional perspectives in Visual Communication and Experience Design. This will involve teaching and developing the following areas on the course:
Typography and layout design
Fundamentals of visual communication and design
Graphic design principles and techniques
Brand strategy, brand identity design and brand experiences
User interface and user experience design
Semiotics and visual communication
Design history, theory, thinking and innovation
In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will also provide academic and pastoral support to students, monitoring progress and attendance, and maintaining essential records to ensure students' academic and personal development.
We are looking for individuals with an undergraduate degree (or equivalent relevant experience), who possess experience of teaching and assessment in a Higher Education environment.
A higher degree in a relevant subject area (Masters or PhD), a teaching qualification (PGCert or equivalent) and/or Senior Fellowship of the Advance Higher Education Academy is desirable, but not essential.
You must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma, as you will be expected to use these tools in both teaching and supporting students’ skills development across various projects.
Interviews are scheduled to take place 4 December 2024.
