INTRODUCTION
We’re looking for an experienced senior service designer to lead projects and build out the BBC Studios service design offering.
We need someone who’s always on the lookout for opportunities to inject service thinking, consulting with and mentoring colleagues. It’s important that you have deep domain expertise and knowledge of how to take a holistic view of user journeys, connecting front- and back-stage touchpoints and finding opportunities to improve the whole user experience.
You’ll also be great at building relationships with stakeholders and other designers in this space to facilitate strong partnerships across teams and disciplines.

THE ROLE
We’re looking for a service designer who can:
  • Help us understand how customers (both internal and external) work across touch points
  • Help us improve and develop a cross-product vision
  • Collaborate with Senior UX Designers, Developers and Product Managers to initiate and kick of discovery for projects you’ve identified
  • Identify areas where teams could improve stakeholder engagement through better collaboration and problem-focused conversations, finding opportunities for collaboration and initiating these collaborations positively so they can be maintained on an ongoing basis once your work is done and helping to forge positive working relationships
  • Drive collaboration across business area in order to break down silo-ed thinking
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead end-to-end service design projects with a special focus on joining up teams and individuals to build collaborative practices and improve our BBC Studios Service
  • Engage and collaborate with a range of stakeholders, including product managers, designers, developers, and business stakeholders, to align on the service's vision and deliver a consistent experience
  • Coordinate and facilitate multi-disciplinary workshops and activities
  • Improve processes by identifying areas of opportunities to find efficiency and better ways of working together
  • Conduct in-depth research, identifying pain points, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Proactively drive projects where design, design thinking and service design would make a positive impact
  • Ensure services are designed to accommodate future growth
  • Plan and prioritise your own workload, and help set the direction/outcomes of other Service Designers in the team
  • Line manage, mentor and develop colleagues, inspiring them to grow and thrive in their roles in BBC Studios
  • Guide the work of external agencies and freelancers to learn new things, see new perspectives and collaborate on new ideas. As well as onboarding the agencies and freelancers with context for operating in the BBC Studios context
