The Role
The Senior Visuals Editor will be fully responsible for the visuals on the GLAMOUR UK website and across social platforms. Candidates should have excellent technical and editorial judgement and a strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.
The Team This role will be reporting to the European Creative Director in Central London working as an integral part of GLAMOUR UK’s editorial team, leading the digital picture desk with two direct reports; Associate Picture Editor and Commerce Picture Editor.
What will you be doing?
  • Lead the digital picture desk team
  • Curate and supervise high-quality site imagery, covering photography, design, collages, and GIFs (Illustration experience preferred)
  • Ensure the maintenance of website visuals to a high standard, consistently aligning with brand guidelines across multiple platforms (quality control)
  • Collaborate directly with editors and writers to produce visually compelling features
  • Liaise with the design team to fulfil artwork requests efficiently and collaboratively, including social posts, presentations etc.,
  • Manage traffic/workflow of direct reports, including training initiatives
  • Manage and implement an efficient filing system for imagery/archiving
  • Negotiate and secure rights and fees for images from produced photoshoots and researched work
  • On occasion, co-ordinate the booking of event photographers
  • Demonstrate strong editorial and visual judgement
  • Effectively manage budgets and resources
  • Contribute to crossover/ad hoc projects supporting European territories (Spain/Germany)
  • Working with Visuals Director: Establish a system for storing internal shoots throughout the post production schedule, from low-res, to various rounds through to final hi-res, and on occasion, co-ordinate the booking of event photographers and support on still life shoots
  • Establish relationships with picture editors from other Conde Nast brands for information/resource sharing
Who you are:
  • Strong experience working on a digital picture desk or relevant field.
  • Must be familiar with the GLAMOUR digital visual aesthetic and have a keen interest in beauty, fashion, empowerment and lifestyle.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with photographic sources and agencies
  • Extensive understanding and experience with current copyright laws
  • Demonstrated experience using Adobe Photoshop and producing high-quality graphic design for digital platforms
  • Highly organised, detail oriented, and have the ability to work to multiple tight deadlines under pressure
  • Experience managing or leading a team
  • Ability to think outside the box and contribute ideas to editorial brainstorms
  • Strong communication organisational skills required as is the ability to produce content under heavy deadline pressure
