Role purpose and overview
Telegraph Recommended is highly trusted by our audience to recommend purchases. The increased quality and frequent updates of our Recommended editorial has delivered on and increased that trust, while also delivering affiliate revenue.
We have ambitions to invest and develop Telegraph Recommended into a major channel for the website over the next few years.
In this role, you will be responsible for creating and optimising e-commerce videos across all social platforms.
Commission, edit and publish videos with social audiences in mind, specialising in short form and vertical formats
Inform best practices for scripting, presenting, shooting and editing social footage
Brief expert writers on visual requirements for Recommended products for app, web and social and provide feedback. Own and refine this process to ensure our social video content continues to be engaging and effective
Shoot and edit projects, including attending external shoots if required
Use data and analytics to inform onward strategy.
Create a social strategy to grow our offsite audience for Recommended and drive traffic to the website
Experienced in video production and editing for social media using Adobe Premiere, preferably within an e-commerce and/or editorial environment
Experience making videos reach large audiences, and an understanding of how to capture audiences
Overseeing social strategy, presenting ideas and best practice
Worked in a social media role with a good understanding of content production
Strong creative storytelling and scripting skills
Proven track record of driving follower growth across diverse social platforms and nurturing engaged communities
Competence speaking ‘language’ of social; understanding how to connect with audiences on different social platforms
The ability to work comfortably both independently and as part of a team
Good at fostering and building relationships in person and online, individually and at scale
A firm grasp of The Telegraph’s brands and journalistic values, both in digital and in print
Understanding of analytics tools, and the ability to make decisions about social media activities based on analytics when appropriate
