Francesca Avian and Erica Agogliati became Flatwig Studio in 2014. They met in 2011 at Politecnico di Milano, where they both studied the theory and practice of interior design. Their work is an eclectic mix of interior, exhibition, curation and artifacts. They are interested in investigating the relationships between art and design, craftsmanship and industrial processes, with a great attention to materials, their aesthetics and sustainability. Both interested in investigating the relation between human presence and space, people and their domestic environment, they believe in the ethic and aesthetic mission of design. They define themselves as complementary: Erica has a hands-on approach, Francesca is abstract and dreamy. They take inspiration from nature, tradition and from the unconventional beauty of kitsch.
Honorable Mention for the competition Lighthouse Interior promoted by CODE (Competitions for Designers) for the Sardinian ceramic company Cerasarda.
