Artist and print designer Leanne Claxton grew up in Lancashire, moving to London in 2002 to complete a BA degree in textile design at Central Saint Martins. In 2005, she trained in Paris under Christian Lacroix where she discovered haute couture and the relationship between art and fashion. Since graduating, she has worked both in-house and as a freelance print designer for major brands in London, Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Spain. In 2011, she collaborated with fashion designer Johanna Ho to launch her first capsule clothing collection, HO:Claxton. Johanna describes Leanne’s paintings as “full of magic and mystery that is simply breathtaking”. In 2012 she was named ‘Design Star of Tomorrow’ at the Perspective Magazine Awards. Leanne set up her art and print design studio in her native Lancashire at the start of 2015. Flowers have been a prevailing theme throughout her work and the main inspiration behind her self-named scarf brand.
