About

In the market town of Woodbridge, on Church Street, is a double fronted Georgian shop, fronting a 16th Century merchant’s house. Within this beautiful building, layered with merchant’s tales and trading, we opened The Merchant’s Table. The Merchant’s Table is a shop selling unique objects for the home by independent British makers and artists, with a focus on our local communities in Suffolk and London. We believe in bringing customers closer to the individuals behind the work and hold workshops and supper events throughout the year, in which makers and producers share their craft or skill. The Merchant’s Table is the concept of Susanna Cook, Creative Director of Allies Design Studio; a design studio who create branding, packaging, literature, merchandising and overall styling for principled, aspiring food clients, the best within their field. In our design studio, we have always been fascinated by the table and what it represents to different people. For us, it is a place to share; creativity, experiences, knowledge and food. The Merchant’s Table has evolved as a natural extension of the work we do within our studio and has given us the opportunity to bring exceptional makers, artists and producers together in one place and collaborate with them to create limited editions you will not find anywhere else. These pieces directly link to and around the table.
