Collaboration is harmony - the future of education through Black British history
In response to building frustrations and unanswered questions in the UK, vaabs collective gathered a team of creatives for a project to assist in re-imagining the future of Education through Black British history in the UK Curriculum.
The 'collaboration is harmony' project drew inspiration from the collaborative ethos of the vaabs collective and manifested in production of a charity tee. All proceeds raised go directly to The Black Curriculum, who aim to provide a sense of belonging and identity to young people across the UK, to teach an accessible Black British curriculum that raises attainment and to improve social cohesion between young people.
The project involved a team effort across the vaabs creative network, from initial concept, messaging, illustration, production and e-commerce. vaabs creative expanded their network to work with Black owned business and creatives including Illustrator Paris, Birmingham based BAME network BHAME, exclusive hair salon BLACC+BLOND and conscious clothing brand casual.co

I led verbal messaging for this project, from background narrative, messaging the garment and e-comm product descriptions. This project was bigger than just a t-shirt, collaborating with a team of passionate creatives and business who cared about making a much needed positive social impact through fashion activism, ultimately raising the profile of black voices throughout the UK.
