The AR app is available on both iOS and Android.
But in case you don't have a smartphone handy, the Notable Women website features all 100 women – and educators will find teacher’s resources to help bring more women who shaped U.S. history to more classrooms.
It has been over 100 years since a woman appeared on U.S. paper currency. In the United States, less than 8 percent of public statues are of women and only nine out of 411 national parks are dedicated to women’s history.
Former U.S. Treasurer Rosie Rios teamed up with some friends at Google Creative Lab to use AR to continue to illuminate the history-makers who have historically been left out of important places.
After all, inspirations lead to aspirations. We have a responsibility to highlight the women who have shaped our past and serve as role models for our future.
