On 15th May 2019, 50 of us pub crawled around the delightful Borough Market. We heard from 5 varied, utterly inspiring, and inherently risky speakers. They each gave a gloriously unique perspective on creativity, risk, and why you should just go out there and do it. Educational aspect aside, we also made duct tape outfits (ask Cookie), drank our body weight in posh Gavi, and hosted an unexpected mini rave in our studio that ended at 4:30am. Not bad for a Wednesday.

Mr Gee (AKA The King of Smooth) opened the evening, and tantalised our ear drums with his poetic renditions of how he grew from a career in scaffolding, to touring with Russell Brand.
One drink down, we went full circle back to our first ever TFR venue, Bunch of Grapes. Kris Hallenga took the floor, and you genuinely could have heard a pin drop.
Kris reminisced on the beginnings of CoppaFeel!, her personal battles with cancer, and why you should all check your damn boobs.
After a quick stroll through Borough Market, Harry Ashbridge delivered his talk under the much more sophisticated arches of Laithwaites Wine.
Whilst sipping some rather delectable Gavi, we listened to Harry explain the importance of words, how Monzo speaks to customers like normal people (shocker), and that hurricanes with female names kill more people(!?)
After grabbing our next few drinks from the best barman in the world (we love you Will), we pinned our ears back and heard Paul Mellor deliver a brand-new talk. Emphasising the importance of being different, having an opinion, and not being BLAND.
Finally, Emma Sayle wowed us with tales of how she went from an all girls academy, to creator of the biggest sex parties in the world, and Founder other amazing platforms such as SafeDate and Sistr.
Luckily there are no photos of the end of the night, but we managed to host a mini-rave in the Mellor&Smith studio until 4:30am.
We told you we’re not like other industry events.
See you next time!
