A career progression initiative. Through visibility, events and education, we create and increase opportunities for ethnic diverse creative talent, across the creative industries.
WeAreStripes is a career progression initiative which aims to address the ethnic diversity imbalance in the creative industry, starting with the creative advertising subsector. With visibility of talent and roles, events and education, we both create and increase opportunities for BAME creative talent.
There are currently a number of movements and initiatives in process to resolve gender-balance equality in the creative industries, there are very few to address imbalance in Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups in the creative industries.
We showcase role models, breakdown the various sub sectors within the creative industry e.g. advertising, branding, music, social media, film, production etc. and highlight the roles which are available and how to prepare for them. With mentoring we offer career navigation, inclusion, inspiration and access to the community.
We work with both entry level and mid - senior level creative talent, as we believe the creative industries needs 'people of all stripes'. WeAreStripes aims to create greater ethnic diverse representation, across all levels, within these industries.
