About me
I am a Hellenic-born, London-based visual artist and photographer whose work is rooted in the intersections of art, fashion, and cultural inquiry. My passion for photography blossomed in my youth, where I became known for capturing the intimate and personal moments of my family and friends with a Kodak Instamatic camera. This early practice set the foundation for a lifelong journey in visual storytelling, defined by an intuitive and experimental approach to the medium. While I initially pursued a degree in Biomedical Technology Engineering at the National Technical University of Athens, my dedication to photography never wavered. Even during my time in the business world, I consistently documented the world around me, photographing the mundane and elevating the ordinary into moments of beauty and meaning. Ultimately, it was this passion that led me to London, a city where my artistic vision could flourish, and where I fully embraced my career as a visual artist and photographer. My formal education in photography began at the London School of Photography, where I acquired the technical and conceptual skills to refine my craft. I went on to receive a first-class Honours BA from the University of Westminster’s School of Arts, followed by a scholarship to the prestigious Royal College of Art, where I was recently awarded a Master’s in Photography. These academic experiences, combined with my self-taught roots, have shaped me into a versatile artist with a unique ability to balance technical precision with creative exploration. Over the years, I have worked extensively in the creative industries, particularly in portrait, event, and fashion photography. My portfolio includes collaborations with leading figures in fashion, music, and the arts, including Kate Moss, Elsa Hosk, Edward Enninful, Daphne Guinness, Jordan Bridge, Valery Kaufman, and Sofia Resing. My work has been featured in high-profile fashion campaigns, magazine editorials, and international fashion events in both London and Paris. Yet, despite my industry success, I remain deeply committed to my artistic practice, continually pushing the boundaries of what is possible within photography. My artistic style is a fusion of the expressive, dynamic qualities of painting with the sleek, bold aesthetics of graphic design. My work explores the full potential of image manipulation, using colour, texture, and form to create visually arresting images that are both conceptually rich and technically innovative. This dynamic approach has become a hallmark of my photography, allowing me to challenge the conventional limitations of the medium while offering fresh perspectives on familiar subjects. In my latest body of work, I critically examine gender representations, particularly the ways in which hegemonic nationalistic ideals shape and limit gender identities. By drawing from my own personal experiences and cultural background, I interrogate traditional gender roles, seeking to create a dialogue around fluidity and the possibility of new forms of identity expression beyond the confines of normative gender performance. My work not only challenges societal norms but also contributes to a broader conversation on social justice, inclusivity, and the power of self-expression. As I began my teaching role at the London School of Photography, I became eager to share my knowledge and experience with the next generation of photographers. Deeply committed to fostering creative growth, I am passionate about helping my students develop their own unique style and voice. I believe in empowering students to explore their own artistic instincts, while providing them with the technical foundation needed to navigate the complexities of the photographic medium. My teaching philosophy centers around the idea that true artistic expression emerges when one has both the skills and the freedom to experiment, challenge conventions, and ultimately, discover their own path. For me, photography is not just a medium but a platform for questioning, redefining, and reshaping the world. My work continues to evolve, reflecting my ongoing desire to push the boundaries of both photography and societal expectations, while my teaching reflects my commitment to nurturing the creative potential of those around me.
