About me
I am a multi-disciplinary creative and recent graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London. I am capable to work across a broad area of mediums, such as 3D, graphics and moving image but always remain with bold concepts which reflect a deep thinking about systems in the world. I greatly enjoy collaborative working, and am looking to build on my experience within production and video into exciting new ways. My past work experience has been in Production company Prettybird, as a director's assistant for Elisha Smith Leverock, and as a creative Intern for XL Recordings. I am currently a concept developer for Venturespring, collaborating with corporate companies to develop the usability and functionality of apps. I also work on a freelance basis on my own freelance projects, spanning from music videos to artwork.
Projects
  • Nokia Life-Line
Nokia Life-LineCreated at Goldsmiths in a team brief set by Nokia's Advanced Design Studio, we were asked to create a new mapping system which fulfilled a poetic and emotional aim, an approach which modern maps do not fulfil. We created 'Life-Line,' a movement mapping system which uses your phone to track your everyday movements and then places them on a physical globe. We visioned this as a memorial artefact for when somebody died, placing 'A' for their place of birth and 'B' for their place of death. This created a mapping system that reflected very human notions, which can be held in your hands and become an object of discovery about a person, and how their lifetime movements may have even influenced yours.
  • So-Fa Travel
So-Fa TravelSo-Fa Travel is a multi-sensory travelling experience, enabling the traveller to visit and experience elements from all over the world from the comfort of their home and become 'so-fa' travelled. Derived from my own feeling of being 'ill-travelled,' the project explores the authenticity of the cultural capital we give to those who have been exposed to distant and exotic cultures - does the act of travel really live up to these 'life changing stereotypes to become more open-minded, interesting and mature or is it over-hyped with the increase of social media? So-Fa Travel is an online platform which combines google maps, live tweets from locals and local radio to give a real, live and honest experience of a place. This is also accompanied with a kit which includes local food, scent glasses and a souvenir to offer a multi-sensory feeling to the travel. Exhibited at 'Matter' in June 2014, the Goldsmiths University Degree show at the Old Truman Brewery, So-Fa travel exclusively took visitors to Rio De Janeiro, to hear the locals talking in real time about the Olympics and world cup preparations, school exams, and the violence in the Favelas.
  • Prettybird Christmas Glasses
Prettybird Christmas GlassesHaving worked for Prettybird as a production intern in the summer I was asked to design their Christmas cards for that year. I wanted to inject their fresh, fun and innovative company ethos so designed these in the form of Christmas party glasses. These were successful in taking the logistical form of a traditional christmas card but also doubling up as a fun and interactive present. I then cut and assembled all 250 pairs on the lazer cutter, which also included a personalised 'to' and 'from' on the temple of the glasses. These received a good response from the contacts of the company, who received many photos of their contacts wearing the glasses.
Work history
    Concept Developer
As concept developer within this tech-start up company my role is to collaborate with corporate companies to develop and realise ideas for new apps. Responsibilities include compiling market research, carrying out strategic analysis of app development, and brainstorming out-of-the-box ideas for functionality and branding. I have gained from this role diligent communication skills alongside experience in working to tight deadlines with a variety of clients.
    Creative Intern
     -
During this internship I worked alongside the Creative Director to help develop and realise ideas across a number of artist's campaigns. Working in generating print, digital and online content I learnt many lessons about promotion within the music industry and how to appropriately create branding for different audiences.

Education
    Design
     -
Awarded 2:1 This course at Goldsmiths taught me a thoughtful, thorough and unique approach to design and it's influence within our world. With a focus on concepts, we were taught to apply our ideas to whichever medium seemed appropriate with a multi-disciplinary approach, developing a broad range of practical skills ranging from graphics, film, 3d and everything in-between. This overall taught me many diligent lessons in project management, working collaboratively, and problem solving.
National Diploma in Art and Design
     -
Awarded Distinction This year-long foundation diploma taught me a deeper understanding of the design process to develop skills within problem solving and idea generation across a variety of mediums. I specialised in graphics where I developed further my communication skills and experimentation with forms of moving image.
