Creates innovative short form content for some of the biggest programmes and events across BBC, such as Blue Planet, Peaky Blinders, Poldark, Radio 1 Teen Awards, BAFTAs and the General Election. Researches, generates strategic ideas and concepts, comes up with new methods of capture and delivery – armed with knowledge of digital trends. Understands how young people consume content, and works closely with BBC channels and brands. • Come up with and execute innovative social campaigns, working closely with social and marketing teams, pitching concepts and ideas to creative heads, execs and stakeholders. Provides technical advice to the BBC Creative team, production, social team and marketing team (where deemed necessary). • Strong digital creative skills. Can film, edit and direct big talent as well as negotiate with their agents (Kit Harrington, Aidan Turner, Susanne Bier, Steven Knight, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Kurupt FM, Clean Bandit, amongst many others). Quick thinker and improvises on shoots when necessary. Builds a relationship with the producers and crew on set. • Rebranded, art directed and helped produce* (*advertising) of the Radio 1 Teen Awards (3 years). • Helped the line manager shape and form the digital team to where we are today, including helping hire and mentor team members, who have made our team bigger and better. • Experienced in managing complex projects with both significant and tight budgets on extreme quick turnarounds, working closely with paid media. Has a range of digital experience having creatively lead several social media campaigns, including live social broadcasts and a Facebook AR lens for Peaky Blinders, a Messenger Bot for Murder in Successville, a social reactive shoot for Pitch Battle, and worked with social influencers on several programes.
Working on some of the biggest campaigns across BBC as well as helping to build, shape and grow the digital team of BBC Creative. - Work closely with social teams and marketing teams to develop ideas and creative design solutions for pictures, leading on the direction of design, pitching concepts and ideas - Create original design concepts in line with the brief - Research and prepare artwork in support of agreed design concepts and facilitate and participate in brainstorming sessions - Provide technical advice to the team and Social team (where deemed necessary) - Attend pre-shoot meetings where appropriate to advise the Campaign team on the best way to realise design requirements and production values within given operational constraints - Develop ideas and basic concepts into fully worked out solutions for new campaigns using the full range of available media - Employ the use of design software for creative image manipulation, graphic design, animation and the creation of multi-platform content - Ensure a deep understanding of the BBC brand narrative and its application across multiple channels and platforms
