I have over 10 years experience working as a graphic designer. Through my freelance and permanent employment to date, I have benefited from working for a range of different design companies for a variety of global, national and local clients including Tesco, Australia Post, Wembley Stadium, Royal Ascot Racecourse, Chelsea Football Club, Nokia, Vodafone, Goodyear Dunlop, HiQ, Vancouver Art Gallery, The University of British Columbia, B&Q and Mecca Bingo. Through my last 6 years freelancing, I have proven myself to be adaptable, hard working and creative when faced with new challenges. I am frequently asked back. I have also been lucky enough to work abroad – I worked a year in Vancouver (2007/08) and a year in Melbourne (2011/12). Both were enlightening and enjoyable work / life experiences. Now back, in London, I’m keen to bring my knowledge, experience and enthusiasm to new and exciting opportunities, either freelance or otherwise.
I have returned to 20.20 a number of times this year and last year, to work on various hospitality, retail and sports environment branding projects. Key projects include: brand identiy, printed collatoral and environmental graphics for ‘On 5’ (fine dining restaurant at Royal Ascot Racecourse); environmental graphics for Ditsch (German pretzel vendors); retail design for Dutch department store V&D and discount retailers The Original Factory Shop; and environmental graphics for Wembley Stadium and Chelsea Football Club.
I was brought in originally to work on a retail design development project for NatWest, but went on to also work on the design concept stage for the visual identity and cards projects.
Retail design concepts for a confidential client.
I worked on and off at The Partners on various brand identity projects throughout the year. Clients included Investec, Air Asia and Argos, as well as environmental design for Rolex and Waitrose.
Worked mainly on the Australia Post re-branding project from early audit stages, through design development to generating extensive identity guidelines. I also created an illustration style for the brand and a bank of illustrations.
Worked on creating the new retail design concept for Tesco supermarket. From initial store audits, design development, design implementation across various store formats to guideline principles for future implementation.
Was involved in a range of projects at various levels of design development. Roles included logo design, packaging and label design, environmental graphics, brand development and guidelining for clients including Harry Ramsdens, Ann Summers and Prenatal (Italian retailer for parents and babies).
Worked on various projects for clients including Supervalu (Irish supermarket) and Waitrose. Designed POS and signage for retail clients, put together presentations for pitches, design development and strategy.
Contributed to the B&Q project by developing a system for in-store POS items across a number of departments. Worked on new identity for B&Q sub-brand ‘One Planet Home’, to be used on eco friendly product ranges.
Created a detailed graphics package, based on concept visuals and working design files, for the interior walls and signage elements for Liz Gallery, an Italian shopping mall.
As part of Nokia’s ‘Salesperson is King’ project, created a number of printed booklets and branded items to be given to Nokia sales staff to inspire and inform them about specific Nokia services.
Further developed the new Mecca Bingo brand language and applied it to various promotional materials. Created several ‘brands within the brand’ for specific initiatives. Compiled a comprehensive brand standards manual.
Worked as part of the design studio on brand communications and corporate identity projects for clients including Vancouver Art Gallery, University of British Columbia and Coast Capitol Savings. Brought projects from concept stages, to design and layout through to print and completion.
Worked as part of the studio alongside other designers (both Graphics and Interior Design teams) for clients including Vodafone, Nokia, Dr Martens, HSBC, Kazkom Bank, Goodyear Dunlop and HiQ tyres (won Design Week award for Best Retail Interior 2007 as well as in-book recognition for the D&AD Annual 2008).
