Hide the Shark are a creative studio of just 4 people, with a focus on branding and website design. I worked closely with the Creative Director and Head of Digital on a number of branding and website redesign projects, as well as working on BAU print collateral for theatres and artists. Whist in this role I was at the forefront of the creative process and design of a brand book for a new client. The success of this piece of work went on to win Hide the Shark the website redesign and brand launch for the same client
After finishing my creative graduate scheme I was kept on at Zone as a Junior Designer. I worked on a wide range of projects including website design for The Guardian Soulmates, Greene King and RSPB, illustration design for Gatwick airport and animation and social media content for Kerry Foods.
Full time graduate programme with the ‘BIMA Agency of the year 2016’ I worked on various client projects work from day one, along side attending training courses and receiving mentoring in the creative disciplines, editorial, UX and visual design.
I attended Berlin Fashion week on behalf of Aesthetica magazine. I gathered trend research and posted daily blogs which taught me how to adapt my writing tone to the needs of a client and also helped me understand trend forecasting and offered me insight into the emerging trends within fashion, lifestyle, graphic design and visual merchandising.
I undertook an internship at Zandra Rhodes Studio. Duties included helping along side the design team to rework designs and produce mood boards to send to collaborating designers.I used programs such as InDesign and Photoshop to refine designs and experiment with a variety of colour schemes. Also provided general office support and ran errands for the studio.
I undertook a fortnight long work placement at Your Local Link Magazine. In this time I conducted research and co authored an article on the growing trend of vintage fashion, which was published in Your Local Link magazine. I also styled a photoshoot using vintage clothing found in charity shops and assisted with logo and advertisement design as well as page layout, which taught me how to use grids and templates to ensure a structured layout.
Over 3 years on the course areas of study included visual merchandising, photography, styling, trend forcasting and branding. In my final year I specialised in branding, print layout and service design. This course had a large focus on teaching the importance of the creative process from initial research stages, to the big idea and on to the creative concept. This is a process I am now very familiar with and am able to apply to any briefs that I am issued in order to create an informed creative outcome.
