For over a year I was a Data analyst for Britain’s best selling quality newspaper The Daily Telegraph. The role is set in a highly demanding, fast-paced environment, requiring strong attention to detail; delivering to set deadlines and getting tasks right first time. Within this varied role, I was responsible for: • Calculating the national daily supply figures. • Measuring daily sales versus target, reporting back to the management team. • Liaising with the newspaper supply chain and many key multiple group retailer head offices. I have significantly developed my technology skills including Excel, Microsoft Access and other report-based databases including Business Objects. Working at The Telegraph has enabled me to handle high pressure situations in a calm & efficient manner whilst improving my communication skills and intuitiveness. Most importantly, I have grown immensely as an individual, cementing a professional mindset that will remain with me forever.
I was a contributing writer for the UK's biggest urban music website GRM Daily. Some of my responsibilities included: • Writing news stories • Interviews/features with artists and influencers around the UK including YouTube sensation KSI (20 million subscribers) and 2017 BBC Introducing nominee RAYE, as well as the experience to review the Red Bull Music Academy in Leeds. • Managing the 'Go Left' section dedicated to exposing alternative hip hop,r&b/grime artists; curating a five-track playlist every week.
Whilst working on BBC 1Xtra presenter DJ Semtex's site A Nation Of Billions, I wrote various music related reviews/news stories. Having the chance to work with Semtex and his manager Marium Raja, who have both been in the music industry for 20+ years, has given me the chance to learn and improve on my own craft vastly, in terms of my writing ability, attention to detail and the importance of having your own identity.
In 2017, I graduated Southampton Solent University, achieving a First Class Honours in Popular Music Journalism.
