Ultimately for me it's all about people, ideas and good design. After graduating from the University of Leeds, I want to broaden my experience further to work my way up into an Art Director role. I hope to add value, achieve big things and have a lot of fun.Locked Pro Plan feature
Key responsibilities included: 1. Concept Design; packaging, advertorials, brochures, point of sales and leaflets. 2. Preparing Brand Assets; Mock Ups, Mood Boards and Concept boards. 3. Art-Working final design work. 4. Contributing to creative workshops and internal meetings. 5. Conducting thorough company analysis to inspire future developments. The team always welcomed new ideas and thoughts on the brand. Through this I was given the opportunity to present a company analysis and pitch new brand ideas to the creative team. After my pitch, I was asked to share my analysis slides with Tina, The Global Head of Creative & Innovation to place in her presentation to the Executive Team and Board.
Coordinating and creating brand touch points, I utilised my design background to provide new insights and inspire projects when working alongside the Global Marketing and PR team. Key responsibilities included coordinating product launch celebrations in each of our 5 offices in the UK and US and creating engaging and exciting point of sales within the MOO shop to intrigue the customer. As PR intern, I worked closely with the Social team to help clarify MOO's message; creating strategies for media outreach and tracking our global coverage in titles such as Forbes and TechCrunch.
Within the two week internship, I was challenged to solve a past agency brief to create a visual identity for Scopus' 10th Birthday celebrations. Whilst managing my independent project, I also provided support, when required, to the creative team which included art-working live finals. At the end of the placement, I was given the opportunity to pitch my Scopus10 project to the Creative Director and Head Designer.
Focused experience in Account Management and Art Direction. Working alongside the Lead Art director, I was able to assist with the development of ideas for clients such as ASDA and Hitachi. My Account Management role gave me experience in project planning and management of teams across the company.
My first insight into the creative industry. Over the week, I was given the opportunity to produce creative design solutions for client briefs and develop my art-working skills utilising Adobe software assisted by the design team. Generating ideas for Barbour's 2013 Christmas campaign and a brand identity for a local hairdressers, I also assisted the Account Director with daily errands and when out of the studio on photo-shoots. Working closely alongside the creative team gave me a great insight into life as a designer.
During my time at university, I have taken on the role of President of the School of Design Society and represent my degree practice speaking to prospective students at Open Days and as a spokesperson for degree level study on the University of Leeds website.
Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. 7 week rotation period within 7 various disciplines in Art and Design including Fine Art, Ceramics, Textiles and Graphics, I chose to specialised in Graphic Design after this period and spent the year experimenting with typography, blind drawing, motion graphics and collage. Foundation Certification awarded with Merit. Also took on the role of Course Representative, regularly attending meetings with other representatives to voice the views of my peers and put forward ideas to develop and improve facilities for students.
