Hi, I'm Dan, a recent graduate (2020) of the 3D design course (as a Designer Maker) from the University of Plymouth. My passion and interest is focussed on the design and making of beautiful products, combining traditional skills and practices with a contemporary aesthetic to bring these hand skills into the modern day.
In my most recent project, Declassified, I explore the importance of interaction in the value a product holds. Secret compartments were added to products and furniture to encourage value through interaction and discovery.

- The `Archimedes` Food Sharing PlatterThis sharing platter is a unique take on the traditional `lazy Susan` system frequently used on large tables. But whereas the lazy susan moves dishes in a purely circular way, the Archimedes' platter also spins the food in and out from the center of the table to the edges, making choosing dishes and sharing a meal across a large table quicker and easier. - Declassified- Value through interaction and discoveryIn this project I explored the perception of, and interaction with a product by the user. Specifically, this was done through the integration of secret compartments into functional pieces; examining how this integration could be used to create and nurture value. Through this integration I am encouraging interaction and exploration of these pieces, and providing a means for the user to develop a personal narrative and connection with the piece through the process of discovery and the intrinsic fu
