  • Skillscycle
SkillscycleHaving the concept of Skillscycle in mind, the team started developing its design around the idea of a moveable structure which would have the ability to host, display and exchange a variety of skills. Four structures for four skill categories depending on the activities and needs of our communities: Kitchen, Garden, Performance and Design. While trying to figure out how to make these structures as compact, functional and aesthetically appealing as possible, the group came up with the idea of wheelbarrows. The decision to use the form of a wheelbarrow was deliberate as one of its main purposes is to transport construction materials, and King’s Cross is an area which is being re-constructed as we speak.
  • Wasted - Food Designed for a Sustainable Future
Wasted - Food Designed for a Sustainable FutureWasted is a collaborative game which aims to change people’s perception of what food waste is. At the same time it attempts to affect their consumerist and eating habits in relation to this important issue. It is a proposal to educate, but at the same time enable, people to actively think and act on the problem through playing in the comfort of their homes. Its target audience is mainly BA students, as they are at a crucial phase in their lives, moving away from home for most likely the first time and beginning to formulate their own eating and shopping habits. The way the above is achieved, is by taking people on a journey from visual or physical disgust, to delight.
  • Cherry Orchard De(con)structed
Cherry Orchard De(con)structedA culinary performance commisioned by the Prague Quadrennial's Makers exhibition. Using Chekhov’s text as a starting point, and food as a storytelling medium, I attempted an innovative experiment. Through this performance we wanted to create our own version of the Cherry Orchard, aided by the active participation of the audience. We wanted to ‘weave’ a web of memories with food as their common denominator. Food in the context of this performance was used as a tool to accelerate the story, but also as a stimulus to retrieve past memories. Food is consumed, transformed into energy, life, faeces and finally all that’s left are memories.
