As Creative Director of Love For The Streets, I create campaigns that care and dare to be different. I produce a range of online media that focuses on youth engagement and social issues. We utilise our social channels to create calls for action for young people to assist grassroots organisations through volunteering and issue awareness. Our platform is power by our generation, for future generations. Youth engagement is at the core of our organisation. Part of my role is to facilitate creative campaigning workshops with youth groups, charities and organisations. Our creative campaigning workshops look at the art of activism and show participants how to use online media and offline engagement to get their message out there. We speak to young people in the community about setting up their own social enterprise and how they can share their skills to help others. Past collaborations include the Whitworth Young Contemporaries and the Edmund Rice Network. As part of our community work we assist grassroots homeless charities in Manchester. Here, I organise and facilitate community based art workshops, performances, and events to support and give equal opportunity to those with lived experiences of homelessness.
I am an Associate Lecturer on Fashion and Art Direction at Manchester School Of Art. I teach digital skills, facilitate workshops and offer support and guidance to students. Part of my role is to assist in the organising and execution of student showcases, catwalks and exhibitions. I also assess and give feedback to students. I have received a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Practice (PGCLTHE) which provides a nationally recognised qualification for teaching and academic practice in Higher Education.
During my time at Polite Company I had the opportunity to work at London Design Week promoting Belgium studio, Typographe and the School Of Life. My job was to art direct and shoot the products, create the promotional material such as emails and brochures to be sent out to clients, as well as work on the layouts for the Kevin Cummins’ David Bowie special edition box set.
During my internship I supported the studio with the day to day running of the studio space, internal communications and community engagement. Additionally I created promotional and marketing material for the studio, and spent time with each of the creatives learning from their practice and supporting their activity.
