About me
I'm a versatile and organised freelance editor, copywriter and journalist with 20 years of experience covering lifestyle subjects including travel, architecture, design, family, fashion, motoring, celebrity, gastronomy, music, beauty and business, across daily newspapers, magazines and online. My varied career has involved interviewing Karl Lagerfeld about his golf carts as editor of pioneering car lifestyle magazine, Intersection, test-driving supercars for business daily CityA.M., overseeing travel across the Metro International newspaper group and launching a daily magazine for Red Bull Racing at the Monaco GP. As a copywriter I have produced expert content on just about everything from building facades and spa hotels to BB creams and sparkling wine. I have a post-grad degree in garden design as well as journalism and secretly love an XL spreadsheet. I was born in Brussels and speak fluent French, but also enjoy chatting to taxi drivers in Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and German.
Projects
  • Morrison's Cellar.com
Morrison's Cellar.comWhen it was engaged to launch Morrisons online wine shop, Cellar, marketing and communications agency Wardour enlisted me to manage the editorial. I was involved in every aspect of the process, from developing the tone of voice document and site content map, to writing and editing all content for the site as well as associated print copy. I commissioned a team of freelancers to work alongside me to produce informative but accessible, pun-packed descriptions for 1,115 wines.
  • Metro International Newspapers
Metro International NewspapersAs the first Global Travel Editor at Metro International I commissioned stories for syndication in the group’s free dailies in 25 countries worldwide, and wrote weekly family and motoring columns.
  • Karl Lagerfeld interview
Karl Lagerfeld interviewI set up this interview with fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld when I was editing pioneering car culture magazine, Intersection. He invited me to his Paris ‘hotel particulier’ to show me his GMC van, then for a diet coke at his nearby gallery where he illustrated anecdotes on everything from his first car crash to his hair do with flamboyant sketches. Karl took the self-portraits for the magazine.

     -
Editor responsible for managing and developing travel content for the Metro International newspaper group, delivering stories for publication in 100+ cities in 25 countries worldwide. Responsibilities included developing a schedule of stories relevant to a global audience that includes continental Europe, Russia, Asia and North and South America, liaising with all country editors to ensure stories worked for their market and working with other specialist editors on themed special editions.
