- Kids DJ WorkShopThrough a group called 4 elements, a collective that thought the 4 elements of Hiphop: Break Dancing, MCing, Spray Painting and Scratching/DJing. My role was 'Head of the DJ workshop' where I tonight kids from ages 3 up to 15 with the occasional parent to learn with their child. These workshops happened at Shindig Festival primarily, with a few workshops being booked for town fairs. The workshop started with scratching the skills of scratching using vinyl. As a freelancer I have worked for Monkeynut Audio, Strathmore and Cloudaloud.
Working on audio books from Jamie Carragher's autobiography to a murder mystery read by Rory Kinnear for various publishers such as Penguin Random House. High profile books often come with a fast turn around resulting in a high level of concentration over long periods of time often working late into the night and up at the crack of down to meat deadlines.
The DAW I use to edit is Adobe Audition along with Izotope RX 8, Waves, Plugin Alliance, Ableton and occasionally Audacity.
The jobs procedure:
1 - Mixing/ Mastering audio to specific RMS, LUFS, Integrated loudness and Peak values
2 - Audio repair using RX8 along with individual repairs using Auditions spectrum analyser
3 - Edit Fluffs out of recordings
4 - Proof reading while marking mistakes on QC sheet
5 - Compiling audio into relevant titles (chapters, credits, preface etc) with labelling accordingly to the publishers requests
6 - Re visiting QC sheet to edit re records or recycling original audio
