About me
Hello, my name is Georgie. My professional experience is in market research and marketing. I am seeking a communications role in the third sector - in an NGO, Charity or in the Art and Creative Industry. I enjoy watching live music, sketching in art galleries and practicing yoga. In my spare time volunteer as a show presenter for Sofar Sounds. If you think we could work together then send me a message as I am open to new opportunities.
Projects
  • CARAS Volunteering with Refugees
CARAS Volunteering with RefugeesIn April 2018 I will begin a volunteering every Saturday with a refugee community centre in Tooting London, where I will organise games and educational activities for young people in the community.
  • Production Assistant for Mark and Milly Pictures
Production Assistant for Mark and Milly PicturesIn my spare time I volunteer as a production assistant for a music video production company called Mark and Milly Pictures, where I help to organise film shoots. Often Mark and Milly's projects have a small budget, so I've had to negotiate with people to work with us for free. I've been innovative in my approach to this task by recruiting dancers from Facebook forums and sourcing venues through networking with friends.
  • PR for Sense of Space
PR for Sense of SpaceI am currently completing an internship for Bacchus PR - a creative agency based in Notting Hill. I helped to organise the launch of an experiential event called 'Sense of Space' which attracts press attention to London's Broadgate Circle. During my internship I invited celebrities, influencers and press to 'Sense of Space' to raise the events profile in the public eye. I assisted the team by writing press releases and by helping to run the event on the day. Media coverage for Sense of Space can be found here: https://secretldn.com/stunning-immersive-exhibition-broadgate/
  • Volunteer Teacher in Ghana
Volunteer Teacher in GhanaIn August - September 2016 I completed two months volunteering as a teacher in Ghana. For the first month I taught Art and Crafts in a private school in the centre of Accra. In the second moth I moved to a rural school where I taught elementary English and Maths. This was a truly rewarding experience as I was able to help educate young people in Ghana. I enjoyed integrating with the community and learning about their culture. I created a video of my experience which can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfFNBrydy9M
  • MC for Sofar Sounds
MC for Sofar SoundsIn my spare time I am an MC for an international live music organiser called Sofar Sounds. Sofar Sounds puts on gigs for up and coming musicians in people's living rooms in over 400 cities across the world. My role is to welcome the audience to the venue, introduce the musicians to the stage and co-ordinate with the team of volunteers to ensure the show runs smoothly. This role demonstrates my interpersonal skills as connecting musicians with the audience requires energy, enthusiasm and confidence.
  • O2 Home Commercial Pilot
O2 Home Commercial PilotOne of the highest value projects I worked on at FreshMinds was the launch of O2's Connected Home Package. I was responsible for conducting research and managing the project. I used a multi-disciplinary research method for this project - I began by organising mystery shops and customer intercepts in selected O2 shop to understand the in store experience. This was followed by in-depth interviews with O2 Home customers to uncover their motivations for purchasing O2 Home, to gain insight using the product and the perceived benefits of the package over competitors. Finally I designed and moderated an online community with consumers who had purchased competitor packages - this gave me insight into consumers behaviours and personality types in the Connected Home Market. I created a concise and engaging report which I presented to O2. The report contained analysis of the current marketing strategy for O2's Connected Home package and recommendations for messaging. In addition to this, I gained a thorough understanding of the customer needs and experiences which helped to improve O2's Connect Home offering.
