  • • English Teacher and leader in loco parentis at an educational camp in Spain. • Each camp consisted of two fortnights, in which I was allocated 15 children from 9 in the morning until 12 at night; pastoral care was constantly necessary. • The camp involved structured, planned lessons and adventure activities, as well as caring for the children during excursions. • Multi-adventure activities were directed by Spanish speaking experts, and coordination of these improved my linguistic and co-operational skills. • The planning of lessons, tailored to the age group and ability of the respective groups had to be completed each evening after the children had been put to bed; yet the lessons nevertheless required thinking on the spot and improvisation in the case of the activity being unsuitable.
