Ilayda is a freelance writer, photographer and creative. Her photography specialises in portraiture, documentary and editorial photography. Her work has featured in a number of exhibitions in collaboration with GUAP Magazine, Shado Magazine, Vavengers and The Black Experience exhibition. She has also collaborated with KyraTV, Red Bull, Kingdom Collective and Metro UK.
Aside from her photography career, she is also a freelance writer. She is currently an Arts and Culture Writer at GUAP Magazine, a Culture writer at The Common Sense Network and a freelance copywriter. She is also published on Metro, LinkUpTv, SheAspires and Crepplug. Ilayda is also a spoken word poet, specialising in poetry focused upon social commentary.
Ilayda graduated in June 2019 with her Bachelor (Honours) degree in English and Drama, with a 2:1. Theatre is another one of Ilayda’s passions, both writing and journalism coverage. She has interviewed the likes of Arinze Kene, Jessica Kaliisa, Yasmin Joseph and Tanya Loretta Dee.
