About me
James has helped re-define, create and evolve customer and user experiences globally for more than 20 years. Carter Digital, named 2016 Asia Pacific’s top innovative experience agency, renowned worldwide for their passion for challenging the status quo, fresh approach, and creating meaningful experiences. James is Australia's Cannes Lion representative for Digital Craft, an AdFest, IADAS, Awwwards, and Webby's Judge, as well as an industry advisor, mentor, radio presenter, public speaker who serves on a number of creative juries and boards worldwide.
    With this in mind, we adopted an agile approach to the development looking to incorporate seamless transitions and subtle animations to present the brand as truly 'interactive'. With a requirement for use across multiple devices, we developed a fully responsive site with clear calls to action for the different user groups - potential clients, existing clients, staff and potential employees. Third party software, Live Chat, was also integrated to enable clients to access immediate technical support directly through the site.   • An iOS and Android application that act as an on-site guide to events, projects, artworks and artists at Melbourne Now. It allows users to personalise, record & share their journey, and extend their engagement beyond the physical confines of the exhibition through additional content. Functionality facilitates an exchange between artists and attendees at the exhibition by offering a space for shared engagement. The complementary microsite employs a careful balance of user experience design by communicating the exhibition mission & offering. The overall delivery is a truly device agnostic, responsive and accessible solution across a range of desktop and mobile devices.     To leverage a general love of sport amongst blokes on site and create a game where players are asked a series of eight Victorian WorkCover Authority and AFL related questions across six weekly rounds. Bonus points are awarded for completing the round in the week it's released and medals are collected for correct answers fuelling the competitive experience. With prizes up for grabs like movie tickets and corporate hospitality at the footy, players can chart their progress on the ladder against other teams and share results with friends on social media.     Leveraging the Women’s new brand direction by ERD and implementing it into a modern user interface has resulted in a more user-centric experience, ultimately meeting the Women's project objectives and user expectations. Giving users the ability to quickly discover information was a key deliverable and was achieved through a structured architecture and easy to navigate content . Creating a clean and natural navigation with comprehensive search functionality was essential for the project's success to enable relevant information to be quickly and accurately found. Reviewing Google Analytics gave our team a solid understanding of the site audience in order to create clear calls to action for key areas and content. Providing the opportunity to vary donation calls to action page-by-page, adding quick links to specific content and building an AA standards website resulted in the delivery of a truly device-agnostic responsive design website.     We've created the new Broadsheet mobile site from the ground up to maintain all the things you love; news, features, profiles, events, newsletters, the directory and the Weekend. Your MyBroadsheet account is also available from your mobile, so you’ll be able to add, save and share stories. When you’re out it will be easy to find places to visit from your Favourites and Must Try lists and read saved articles on your way to work or while you wait for friends at a cafe We are ecstatic to collaborate with the iconic chaps that are Broadsheet to produce a fantastic the mobile experience.
