My name is Jin.
I am a British Korean industrial designer working and living in London, specialising in design ideation and product development. In the past four years I have worked for a wide variety of brands and companies from Tanqueray Gin, Guinness Beer, Aperol Spritz, Johnnie Walker, J&B Whiskey, Carlsberg, Lacoste, Balenciaga, Hugo Boss, Miu Miu, Gillette, Always (Whisper), Nestle, and Nescafe.
In many of my professional projects, I had to take intangible ideas and concepts and transform them into practical designs ready for manufacture using numerous software both familiar and new.
One of the examples is my contribution of Tanqueray mobile bar.
It started as a conceptual 2D design by an Italian design studio. I was responsible for making sure that the technical features, aesthetics, and materials fit the user requirement and the brand image of the company.
The project required me to model all the parts in 3D while integrating the existing products to fit in to the design. I am proud to say that I paid attention to the little details that made the difference for the users. For instance, I made sure that the working area of the bar was ergonomic to bartenders, as well as the stall side friendly to customers.
Many projects that come my way require me to pick up new software quickly. In one of the interior design projects my client needed the 3D models to be designed in 3Ds Max AutoDesk. Since that was the only software they had and wanted to edit it by themselves in the future. So I learnt the software in the fortnight leading up the project and completed it to the same standard I would in my native software.
I would treasure the opportunity to learn and grow, and I am happy to start at any level and make my way through to earn greater responsibilities. I have been part of many exciting short term projects. However, I am looking to join a team on a long run, on long projects.
With my experiences and passion I would be a worthwhile investment for your institution.

- Aperol Spritz floating barIn early 2018 I was lucky enough to be part of a project for Aperol Spritz where we designed products for The Big Summer Social festival. I helped engineer and visualize a floating spritz bar ready for manufacture. It was a straight forward project that seemed no more eventful than any other. However in summer of 2018 I was invited to this wonderful event that I help design. Seeing people enjoying their precious summer weekends with the aid of product I helped design was a special experience.
