- Mark My Words - ISTD BriefDone for the International Society of Typographic Designers, this brief required participants to research any word or group of words in the English language and trace their origin. The word which we selected was Sinister, which we discovered has Latin origins referring to 'left' or 'left-handed'. We then uncovered how left-handed individuals have been excluded from society in cultures all over the world. This lead us to the decision to create a book which was essentially an ode to the lefties.
- Pendoring Integrated CampaignThis project was done for the Pendoring Advertising Awards, and it was considered as one of the finalist projects. Originally created in 1995 to promote and stimulate the use of Afrikaans in advertising, the Pendoring has gone through a number of changes to celebrate all of South Africa's indigenous languages. I was hired by 1854 Media; the company that publishes the British Journal of Photography as a freelance copywriter. My role involved creating all the copy content for a new platform; 1854 Access. I was also involved with the direction of the design of the look and feel of the website for the platform. Unfortunately, my time with 1854 Media was cut short due to Covid19 but my weeks spent there were invaluable as I learnt so much and was challenged on a daily basis.
