About me
Hello! My name is Louise and I'm a freelance illustrator and designer. From a very young age, I would be up at the crack of dawn, drearily following behind my father who is a wildlife photographer. Between frosty Moores looking for nightjars or swamps chasing up snail kites, I had a unique insight into the natural world around me. These experiences have long served as muses within my work and I'm always looking for a new adventure.  After working in America, finishing my degree in Illustration, and balancing a list of part-time jobs, I can now be found in my studio, coffee in hand with country music playing as I chew over a new project.  My work covers a wide variety of subjects and I love to discuss any creative ventures so if you have an enquiry or just want to say 'hi!' drop me a line at: louisebillyard@gmail.com

The Bluestocking JournalFor my MA final project, I created a journal for smart women called The Bluestocking. The name pays homage to an eighteenth century society of the same name that believed that women deserved the same education that was provided to men. The Bluestocking as a brand understands the nuance of young women, that being interested in items of High Culture and Low Culture are not mutually exclusive. Young women’s interests are myriad, and the main ethos of The Bluestocking is to not only champion these i
