Projects
  • The Meaning of LiffI was asked to design a book in a way that would show that books can still be interesting and fun even with the introduction of digital books on a tablet or kindle. I explored traditional books, contemporary books, and publication design. I observed the different types of typography, images, navigation, hierarchy, formats and forms of binding that were used. For this brief I had to work with the text “The Meaning of Liff” by Douglas Adams and I was asked to design an “editorial design project
  • RNDM InputThis is an experimental zine. The zine had to be cheap to produce, hence I had to use cheap methods and materials to make it. The zine was based on the creative industries, so I chose to look at the processes involved in different creative industries. I looked at the processes used in graphic design and music writing. I interviewed a local musician and friend who writes and sings her own songs. I asked her how she wrote and what inspires her. I then compared the two processes seeing if there was any similarities.
  • Alternative Film PostersIn my spare time I like to keep busy by creating new film posters for my favorite films, using vector graphics rather than the traditional photography or CGI film posters.
  • Del Monte RebrandIn college I was assigned the project of rebranding the tinned fruit and vegetable company, Del Monte. I was asked to update the brand in order to make it more appealing, and to make their packaging look fresh and healthy to consumers. After doing research I decided to market the brand to families, as the company aims to promote healthy eating to all kinds of people. The concept came from the elements and ingredients to required to produce these crops - sun, rain, seeds and soil. The design style was targeted at children as I felt they would be attracted to the tins design with the bright healthy colours attracting them. I also added facts about the elements to add a educational for the children.
  • The Shine AgencyI worked at The Shine Agency for six months as a design intern and a junior designer. Through those six months I designed but mostly art worked various items for different clients such as leaflets, brochures, posters, frames, pencils and newsletters. I also did some digital work, such as newsletter emails and web design imagery. For the emails I was asked to design a layout which would then be coded by colleagues. For the websites I used Wordpress where I would create forms, add in pages, posts and events along with some web content.
  • Cancer Support ScotlandCancer Support Scotland was my main client at the Shine Agency. I catered for most of their design related needs. I had to design posters, leaflets and banners for different events they were hosting. I also updated their Wordpress site. My colleague built the site and I assisted by creating imagery and other media including forms, pages and posts.
