Front of the house marketing, promoting a certain brand to members of the public. Having to deal with hundreds of different people on a daily basis as well as taking them around the promotional products has helped me to develop a real understanding on how to communicate to clients effectively. Team work is always integral to this job which I have developed even more along with working independently.
Freelance has been a real eye opener in terms of experience. I learnt everything first hands from storyboarding to working directly with clients to come up with a suitable and original solution. I rely very heavily on my own belief to produce credible work for my clients. I have worked primarily within photography and film in the advertisement industry with various brands, most notably Scotch & Soda, Todds, Wasabi and Kimchee To Go. During this period I have been working as an assistant for various artists and professional photographers and DOP's. By doing so I have gained valuable knowledge in how different people work in different ways which has forced me to adapt back and forth to work in the most efficient way. My mentors have given me a wonderful opportunity in working with various brands and understand how they want to be seen and having to produce work based around their guidelines. Freelance work allows me to develop very strong time management skills and team work ability as quite often you will be working in a completely brand new team for different clients so it is very important to make sure I can get the most efficient workflow to work for myself, the team and the client.
The role is split into 75% Marketing and Online presence and 25% Admin. The marketing side of the role has given me a lot of first hand experience in SEO, Google analytics and Google Adwords and how to plan, apply and execute the right campaigns for the company at the right times. Because the company is relatively new, I am given a lot of responsibility in managing the online accounts and gain a lot of knowledge first hand. I also get to use my creative background for in house Photography and Video content which I very much enjoy as I feel that having a creative mind is a major asset to campaign creation in marketing and could give that little bit extra in the long run.
