My name is Sâde Popoola (aka Shadz) and I’m a 23 year old illustrator based in London looking for work and experience in the creative sector.
The passion I have for creating began with portraiture, however both university and personal projects have allowed me to expand my creative processes.
Over the past few years my work has began to take on a minimalist style, inspired by my childhood love for pop art, where I use a limited colour palette and shapes develop a composition.
Although the content of my work may differ, my hope is to always produce something that is relatable for those who don’t often see themselves, their interests or their struggles represented in art.
My dream brief would be a public illustrated campaign/project that allows me to spread a message of equality on a large scale. Additionally, as a repeat binger of tv shows and films, I would love to work within the TV and Film industries!

- Shortlisted for the WIA2022 Awards in Editorial IllustrationLast year I had the amazing opportunity to be shortlisted for the 2022 World Illustration Awards for my project 'Produced by the Film and TV Industries'. This project really means a lot to me as it spreads a message on the need for racial diversity in the media and I'm grateful for it to have come that far in such a prestigious award! https://theaoi.com/wia/?orderby=rand&award-year=2022&award-type=&award-list=shortlist&award-category=

They are used to highlight and honour their contri

- Editorial: Cover SongsCommunity member, Ed makes his TOMES debut with an analysis of what makes or breaks a cover song… For this cover, Sâde takes a literal approach to the title covering the surface of a vinyl record, a design choice informed by the article's topic and VAGUE's digital remediation aesthetic, with smaller identical records. - Illustration: Pocket PoliticsA single mother earning minimum wage can have a side hustle. Our MPs should not. TOMES Culture Editor, Ayan explains for the first edition of Pocket Politics, a new series on TOMES.
