I'm Sara Balestrieri, 2020 graduate in MFA Performance Costume at Edinburgh College of Art. I come from Italy, but I'm based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I designed costumes for different student productions and commercials. My goal now is to take the first steps into the Film Industry, at a professional level.

- The CoatTHE COAT For the School of Health in Social Sciences of the University of Edinburgh, my colleagues Paloma del Valle, Vanna Paabor, Kyle Maenz and I realized a 3 meters coat in felt, wood, metal, and paper, with a metal and bamboo hanger, to present the school and tell the story of its members. The coat was exhibited at InSpace in Edinburgh in October 2019, with a publication of this long journey and the details of its realization.
- Days of Nighturing summer 2019, I started working as a costume designer on the project "Days of Night", a short movie realized by the master students of Kino Eyes. The film was shooted in October. I was in charge of styling the two characters with different looks and making three costumes. This project was shortlisted on the Female Film Fund and it has been chosen from a record 1300 applications to figure among the 11 finalists, all centered around strong women protagonists. - METAMORPHOSIS"Metamorphosis" is my personal project for my first year of master at ECA, University of Edinburgh. On the theme of the environmental issue, I created ten characters, telling the condition of women in our contemporary society -still seen as objects and linked to old stereotypes - with designs based on recycling and giving new life to trash. I realized two of the ten costumes, using just recycled materials and second-hand fabrics. The costumes took part in the annual costume show of the college.
