I'm Sarah. I'm an art director, sometimes a designer and occasionally a photographer.
I work primarily on TTL campaigns anything from the script and treatment for TVC/AV to the art direction for photography, press ads, social content and activation. I have experience art directing shoots for both moving image or stills, overseeing all way through to post production.
Having spent half my career as a designer; I'm very hands on, mostly at the conceptual stage, later translating the chosen route to multi-channel and briefing into the design team where I oversee to delivery.
Whilst I can work alone, I prefer to work with a team as I believe creative work isn't a solo sport and the beat ideas come from bouncing them off one another. I enjoy managing juniors and overseeing creative, I'm often the stop point between the team and the CD or ACD.
Projects
- Tag: Tesco Beer and Cider FestivalOne of tag’s newer contracts was with Tesco to work on their seasonal marketing campaigns that run both instore, online and in direct mail. I was asked to come work on the account as I had extensive experience of working with Tesco directly in house. This campaign was to run for 3 weeks over spring/summer and would include POS, email, direct mail and potentially TV ads.
- BHS Back To School 2015Back to School is one of the largest annual projects in the studio; it encompasses a 24pp booklet highlighting key trends, pieces and features of this years range, a huge selection of instore POS, an all store window display and an Oxford Street window display. For 2014, after exploring a range of styles we agreed bright primary colours, mixed with softer pastels and a bold chalkboard typeface to make a fun, playful experience for both kids and parents.
- Ann Summers Rabbit App Phase 3A lot of feedback from the app was that it was overly complicated to use with the layout and interface bulky and unclear. As part of the re-design of the core creative, I applied the same principles to the app to launch as phase 3 later in the year. This included both interface and functionality and the result was a cleaner design in keeping with main competitors and current trends that still fit with the direction we were taking the brand in.
- Ann Summers Rabbit Dating App CampaignAfter a lot of negative feedback from the initial release of the rabbit app, Ann Summer’s asked me to design a new creative to launch phase 2 of the improved app. This included a landing page, email, app store preview screens and a campaign that would run over a 6 week period.
- Ann Summers Still Life PhotographyIn addition to their lifestyle photography I proposed making their still life photography work harder for them, rather than shooting all products on white for ecomms, I suggested making the shots more interesting so that they can be used in-store also. For example the palm styled shots were part of the SS16 campaign with Vicky Pattison and the black moody shots are part of the Signature collection.
