About me
Hi there, I'm Viv, a marketing freelancer, ex-agency owner, creator and community organiser. Over the past 11 years, my career has taken me on an exciting journey, from organising large-scale productions in a big, dark warehouse with a room full of broken animatronic toys for 24 hours, to working on a huge YouTube campaign while resisting the temptation of the 24-hour buffet on a cruise ship in the Caribbean, and most recently, founding a boutique influencer agency. Fun fact: I won my first big client pitch while sitting at my mum's dining room table, pretending that I had a team of people supporting me. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working with some of the biggest brands on multi-faceted influencer campaigns, including Disney, Vista, Greenpeace, Lee Kum Kee, and TikTok. While I'm in awe of the incredible work my team and I have accomplished, including winning awards, what I'm most proud of is making inclusivity a core value at Bee Influence. I want this to be the main takeaway from my work when I eventually leave this earth. In addition to my day job, I co-founded an anti-racist CIC organisation called besea.n (Britain's East and Southeast Asian Network). My proudest moment was creating a petition that amassed over 30,000 signatures to stop the media from depicting East and South East Asians (ESEA) in COVID-related media, leading to the first-ever Parliamentary debate on ESEA racism. I was also honoured to be invited to the UK premiere of Marvel's Shang-Chi, a moment I'll never forget! Since then, we've consulted and workshopped with the likes of the UK government's DCMS department (Digital, Culture, Media & Sport), Google, PayPal, and Direct Line Group to advocate for ESEA communities in the UK. In my spare time, I'm a podcaster who discusses identity, belonging, food, and ESEA culture. You can search for "But Where Are You From?" if you'd like to join the conversation! I enjoy prioritising time to relax with my family and friends whenever possible, playing games on my Switch, and reading memoirs and fiction by women of colour authors (when I'm not scrolling through TikTok!). And, just so you know, I'm team noodles (over rice)!
