Projects
- City IdentityThe concept is “positive/negative” (regarding both space and time) that was primarily inspired by the night view (the array of dynamic shapes created by lighted windows in the dark) and the vintage maps (symbolising daytime exploration) of Naples. The handmade type with slightly offset shapes, mimicking the look of the lighted windows when seeing from a distance, and the vitality of the city; the letters themselves represent the narrow streets on the vintage maps.
- BrandingThe initial idea of this dynamic logo was inspired by traditional nine-compartmented Japanese lunch boxes. The dynamism of the logo is a little modern twist (traditionally Japanese lunch boxes have a restriction for placing food in each compartment). And the static red "O" represents the classic ingredient in each Japanese lunch box–the "umeboshi" (Japanese pickled plum), as well as the implication for the Japanese flag.
