Ying Zeng (Zing) is a mixed media animator and illustrator based in London. With a background in illustration and design, she ventured into animation, film and sound design. Through her work, she tells both surreal and fragmented narratives that explore the themes of cultural identity and feminism.

- Animation short, TATA (2020, Ying Zeng)Animation TATA is a one-minute opening animation for a documentary project, Safe Distance (Jamie Chi, 2021). Combining hand-drawn animation and experimental printings on thermal papers, the animation film presents a series of visual puzzles exploring themes of gender, identity and discrimination. The title TATA comes from the music the sound artist JinYing Li composed for this film. As the personal pronouns for “She” and “He” both pronounce “Ta” in the Chinese language, “Ta Ta” in the animation
