As a Junior Photo Editor and Photographic Arts Graduate, I have a distinct passion for content creation. This has evolved through experiences as the Design Intern for ELLE Magazine, Designer for Focus On Africa and undertaking an overtime role as Design Assistant at Mr & Mrs Smith. As a previous volunteer of the charity, I have evolved as their designer. This role is focused on the style guide as well as social media, promotional and website development.
As a member of the picture team, my role is to edit and curate content for hotel launches, emails and marketing campaigns. Alongside this, I have obtained an overtime role assisting the Head of Design by working on briefs for the development of the website, utilising my skills in Adobe Illustrator and Sketch.
I returned to ELLE as an assistant for the Creative Director. In this role I produced creative ideas/layouts for briefs, published content for the magazine and responsive social material for the issue. utilising my skills in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign.
• As the Administrative Manager I was responsible for all of the elements within the back of house. This includes banking, payroll, new starters, deliveries, rotas, employee training as well as health and safety checks. • In this role I have been fully first aid trained (expiry: 18/10/2020). • Managing the delivery team alongside planning their rotas for each day. • Skills gained: In this role so far I have found my ability to manage a team as well as remain organised. This job has helped me prove to myself my ability to multitask notably within strict deadlines, rise to the challenge of deputising as well as being a member of a management team.
This role required high levels of organisation by liaising with clients regarding editorial credits, coordinating returns and call-ins. I always provided prompt responses via email and telephone conversations to fix any challenges within this process to ensure photo shoots were prepared and assisted correctly.
Producing original content, retouching and correcting to provide a high standard and delivering layout design when needed for promotional use, making sure to always keep the consistency of the brand.
Assisting on filming and photographic projects within Cambridge and Nottingham as well as working alongside them in Lodestar Festival as their official photographer.
Throughout my degree I have gained practical graphic design and photographic skills in the digital and analogue medium as well as increased confidence in my knowledge of design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Light room and Dreamweaver. As well as these specific skills I have increased my awareness of concepts, creativity and originality through my photographic work.
Through this course I acquired skills in both analogue and design photography, alongside curation and design. I achieved Distinction* Distinction* Distinction, enabling me to move forward into my degree in Photographic Arts at the University of Westminster.
